Senior Resident Project Representative

RJN Group, Inc., a national engineering firm specializing in infrastructure assessment and rehabilitation, is seeking Senior Resident Project Rep positions, based out of a number of our branch locations.  Position Summary Responsible for the inspection of civil construction projects such as underground piping installations, gravity sewer installations, force main installations, site utility installations, public utility installation or pump stations in accordance with approved construction and engineering specifications.  The Senior Resident Project Representative requires familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods and processes.  This role utilizes expertise in construction field management, quality assurance, quality control, and report documentation. Position Responsibilities Perform field inspections of the construction and maintenance of underground utilities, road construction, and sewer collection facilities.  Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and related codes and standards.  Conduct and document observations of construction.  Ensure installed work conforms to design documents, approved submittals, regional standards, local codes, and best construction practices.  Identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.  Communicate deficiencies to proper persons. Utilize testing procedures, inspection protocols, constructioninspection techniques, and perform QA/QC functions.  Ability to interpret and/or recognize possible conflicts with other underground facilities or utilities. Ability to communicate and coordinate with constructioncontractors, constructiontrades, municipal and private property owners in a cooperative, productive manner, while serving the best interest of the client.  Also interface with project manager and engineers, as well as state and local government officials. Maintain quality control files and document results of all inspections. Perform all functions of the position in a safe and conscientious manner, with constant regard for the safety of fellow employees and the general public.  Follow company environmental, health, and safety policies.  Wear and work in proper personal protective equipment. Compile information, prepare constructionreports, and review as-built drawings as required.  Obtain, prepare and maintain reports, permits, maps, charts or records related to the construction. Oversee and direct other constructioninspection staff. Perform other related functions assigned or as they become apparent or as management assigns. Some out of state travelrequired. Essential Skills & Experience: BS in Civil Engineering (preferred) from an accredited four-year college or university or relevant certification(s) and sufficient field experience. Minimum of 8 years of experience in sanitary sewer, storm water, water main projects for municipal work.  Municipal transportation and water/wastewater facility construction projects are a plus. Some knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and methods as applicable to a water and wastewater facility setting; working knowledge of applicable laws, standards, and regulations relating to construction, inspection, and safety; considerable knowledge of inspection methods. Broad knowledge of water distribution and wastewater collection systems and their construction, maintenance, testing, and disinfection; working knowledge of engineering drawings, cut sheets, and stake outs. Considerable skill in reading and interpreting drawings, plans, specifications, and contract documents, and in applying material testing procedures. Excellent communication skills; ability to convey information effectively; understand ideas and information presented in writing and verbally, including instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to prepare, organize, and maintain inspection field and office data, reports, and systems. Proficient with MS Office products. Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
