Endowed Chair Faculty Position

The School of Psychology, Counseling, and Family Therapy at Wheaton College (IL) invites applications at the associate or professor rank for the Dr. Arthur P. Rech and Mrs. Jean May Rech Chair in Psychology. Known informally as the Rech Chair, this full-time, tenure-track position was established in 1992 through a generous endowment that provides ongoing support for the salary, benefits, and spending allowance of the chair holder. In addition, the person holding the Rech Chair receives yearly release time to help sustain the expectations for scholarship and integration leadership that accompany the appointment.
We seek a distinguished scholar/clinician with strong teaching and scholarly record and continued commitment to the integration of Christian faith and theology with psychological theory and practice. The purpose of the endowed chair is to strengthen the integrative mission and vision of the School of Psychology, Counseling, and Family Therapy. The ideal candidate would have combined proven expertise in the integration of Christian faith and psychology with expertise in other traditional areas of clinical psychology.
This position is also a core faculty appointment in the Wheaton College Psy.D. program, founded in 1993 and APA accredited since 1998. A doctoral degree in clinical psychology or an allied field is required, as well as eligibility for licensure in the state of Illinois. Research and teaching experience at the graduate level are preferred. As a diverse community of faculty and students who share a faith-based commitment to professional practice as service, especially to those marginalized in our society and to the global church, we strongly encourage applications from groups underrepresented in higher education, including women and ethnic and racial minorities. Areas of specialization are open, however, a strong preference will be given to candidates with clinical and research interests consistent with our core program mission.
Send letter of interest and curriculum vitae by email to Dr. Terri Watson, Dean, at Terri.Watson@wheaton.edu. An application will be sent to promising inquirers. Review of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
